I wake and meet the loneliness
The dawn brings me not one sunlit kiss
Amongst the stars of the newborn heaven
That is this dawn
Only gaps of loneliness fill the dark space between ones haven

Oh why, must the stars weep?
Their tears falling in a cascade of light and spark
It’s like this red sea, so deep,
That on ones heart loneliness will leave its mark

The Sun is too, lonely
No clouds nor colour enhance the beauty of its wake
You can sparsely see it weep, slowly,
In those drops of gentle dew of morning’s make

My mind is lonely and bare
Of any thought or ambition for morrow
Only these still eyes see what’s hiding there:
A dully lit, blooded sea of sorrow

No beings sing for this angel’s sky
Like it did on many times past
And if you asked why
I would reply: this day is marked as humanities’ last
